Coming up with new ways to design cardboard boxes can be difficult and tiresome if you are new. Refer here to understand the do and don’ts of the cardboard packaging industry.

Some of the most commonly used box styles include tuck end, tray and sleeve, and auto-lock boxes. There are a number of other styles as well like hexagon boxes, kraft boxes, and display boxes. There are no size limitations so you can go ahead and select any required style that suits your brand.

How To Make the Most of Cardboard Product Boxes

Retail products belonging to the everyday use category cover the major styles of packaging. In this list of retail products, the cosmetic industry stands above all other industries in terms of product packaging. From mascara boxes and lip gloss boxes to make-up brush packaging, the list goes on and on.

Although the box style used for most of the cosmetic industry can be narrowed down to one most commonly used and that is the tuck end box. What’s fascinating about the tuck-type box is that it is fairly simple to use and can be used for any product.

    Size Of the Packaging

The size of the packaging can be determined using the basic formula depth x length x width. They can also be noted down using the terminology of front to back x top to bottom x left to right.

Make sure that you double-check the measurements before putting in a bulk order with your packaging vendor. Also, if you are unsure of what the box size should be, you can always measure the product and use those measurements instead.

    Preference Of Style

Let them know what your product is, and what kind of industry you require the packaging for, and have faith in your packaging supplier. Once they have an idea of what they are dealing with they will be in a better state to help you out.

For example, in the food industry specific to grains and cereals, the preferred box style is the seal-end style. To help prevent the box from opening up, there is a peel-off adhesive tape attached to both ends.

Material Options and What Works Best

There are a number of materials available for custom cardboard boxes and we will only discuss the most used options.

    White Cardboard Material

A number of very powerful industries tend to stick to white card material because of their printing output result. Since the white cardboard material is processed and laminated, the color output result just outruns all other materials.

Then there is the subject of thickness options available and no other material can even come close. Moving on, we can clearly see that the entire cosmetic industry, CBD industry, and oil-based products are all depending on white cardboard.

    Brown Kraft board Eco-Friendly Material

In its natural state, kraft is brown in color and rugged in surface nature. This enables it to fall under the textured card category. There are fewer thickness options with kraft material however they do have the automatic selling point of being safe for the environment.

Because there is no layer to protect the ink, kraft material tends to absorb the ink. Not recommended to laminate the kraft material under any circumstances. This makes sense because any use of plastic will render the material non-eco-friendly and that just destroys the purpose.

Textured Board Material (Subject to Availability)

It contains a number of different materials for you to choose from. However, even though there is a wide list of options, they might not always be available. Textured stock is available in a single thickness which is subject to availability. Not only that, there are a number of different problems that may occur when printing on textured material.

Since the base is not even, there are no guarantees of even printing results.
